Adam Brunin, AIF, NSSA
President
Adam Brunin is the Founder and President of Navigation Wealth Management, an independent SEC Registered Investment Advisory firm headquartered in Fort Collins, Colorado. Adam has dedicated more than two decades to helping individuals, families, retirees, and business owners navigate the increasingly complex world of financial planning and investment management. He founded Navigation Wealth Management with a simple belief: financial advice should be built around the needs of the client—not around products, sales quotas, or one-size-fits-all solutions.
Adam entered the financial services industry in 2001 following nine years of service in the United States Navy submarine community. Serving aboard the USS Tennessee, a nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine, Adam developed a mindset that continues to shape his approach to investment management today—discipline, preparation, accountability, and maintaining focus during uncertain environments.
Life aboard a submarine teaches lessons that extend far beyond military service. Precision matters. Processes matter. Systems matter. Small decisions can carry meaningful consequences. Those principles remain central to Adam’s philosophy as an investment advisor and portfolio manager.
Following his military service, Adam entered the financial services profession and spent several years working within a large Fortune 100 financial institution. During those early years, he recognized opportunities to create a more client-centered experience—one focused on long-term relationships, objective advice, and providing clients with greater transparency and control over their financial lives. That vision ultimately led Adam to establish Navigation Wealth Management and enter the independent advisory space in 2005.
Today, Adam serves as the asset manager for Navigation Wealth Management portfolios and remains deeply involved in portfolio construction, investment research, and strategic planning. His work emphasizes disciplined decision-making, risk management, and helping clients align their investments with both their financial objectives and personal values.
Adam holds the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®) designation and National Social Security Advisor® (NSSA®) designation. These professional credentials reflect his commitment to fiduciary responsibility, retirement planning education, and helping clients make informed financial decisions throughout various stages of life.
Over the years, Adam has developed particular expertise in retirement income planning, investment management, Social Security strategies, risk management, behavioral finance concepts, and portfolio construction. He believes successful financial planning extends beyond simply selecting investments. True planning requires understanding a family’s goals, concerns, priorities, and long-term vision.
Adam believes financial advice works best when clients understand not only what they own, but why they own it.
Education remains an important component of Adam’s practice philosophy. Whether discussing retirement planning concepts, market behavior, portfolio risk, or long-term investment principles, he believes informed clients make stronger financial decisions. Navigation Wealth Management places significant emphasis on client education, communication, and helping individuals gain confidence in their financial direction.
Adam has long maintained an interest in quantitative investment approaches and systematic portfolio management disciplines. His passion for investment research, market behavior, and developing disciplined investment processes continues to shape his work today. He believes thoughtful systems, prudent risk management, and disciplined execution play an important role in navigating changing market environments.
Outside the office, Adam enjoys investment research, hunting, sports, music, and spending time with his family. He has been married to his wife, Tara, for over 30 years, and together they have raised two sons, Seth and Ryan. Family remains one of Adam’s greatest priorities and a central influence in his perspective on stewardship, responsibility, and long-term planning.
Adam is also passionate about mentorship, leadership development, and helping others pursue meaningful lives built around purpose and service. His experiences as a husband, father, business owner, Navy veteran, and advisor have reinforced his belief that financial planning is not simply about money—it is about helping people create freedom, security, and confidence for the future.
At Navigation Wealth Management, Adam continues pursuing the mission that inspired him to build the firm years ago: helping clients navigate life’s financial decisions with clarity, discipline, and purpose.
